Elevating Your Brand On Social Media
Social media platforms have become a crucial way for companies to tract more business to their brands. It can become your number one tool for leads, as long as you use it properly! Chances are, you are already on social media platforms but, the question is, are you using it strategically? It can take time to get into the habit of using social media correctly and efficiently, so I am here to give you some tips and tricks!
Who is your clientele?
In order to correctly market your brand, you have to know and understand your clientele. Try to look at things from their point of view. What content would you want to see on your page if you were in their shoes? Once you correctly identify your clientele, you can easily create content for your pages. Remember, your content should target your chosen clientele, this will help you attract a large following, all within your clientele! You want to do your best to avoid gaining follows from those who won’t benefit from your page.
Here are some questions to ask yourself when determining your clientele:
What age range am I targeting?
What are their hobbies?
What benefits can you offer them?
Who are my dream clients? Where do they hang out on social media platforms?
What type of accounts do they follow?
What do they do for a living?
How much do they make?
Keep track of the answers to all of these questions. You will start to notice patterns in the answers, those patterns will most likely be your preferred clientele, these will be the people you need to market to!
“Social media is not a media. The key is to listen, engage, and build relationships.”

Plan your content out
Planning will be one of the most helpful things to run your social media pages. You don’t want to scramble to put posts together, they won’t look to the best of your ability, and most likely you will eventually stop posting all together. I recommend planning your posts for the whole month. Yes, that can sound overwhelming, but I promise, it’s not!
Create a spreadsheet you can put all of your content ideas in. Start thinking about events, specific topics, holidays, business offering, etc, this will be your content for the month! It is important to have a consistent style/aesthetic for all of your posts. You want your social media pages to be branded with your logo, colors and fonts, everything should look uniform.
Start creating your posts for the month. I like to use Canva for all of my social media posts, it is a super simple platform that I can create my posts on quickly. After all of your content is created, it’s time to post. Most social media platforms allow you to schedule posts, this is what I like to utilize when planning my content out.
Go to one of the social media platforms you are utilizing, such as Facebook, and start posting like you normally would. Add the graphic you made/photo you took, come up with a catchy caption, and don’t forget a few hashtags! As opposed to hitting the post button, all you have to do it hit schedule. You will choose the date and time you want that post to be pushed out onto your page, then you are done! Do this for all of the content you have for the month, then you don’t have to worry about keeping up with posts. Just remember to check comments and messages, you want to reply to as much as you can, it will help your page get more views and keep your clientele interested in what you have to offer!
Define a goal
If you don’t have one already, come up with a clear business goal. Don’t just post to post, post to accomplish something bigger. Think about what you want your social media pages to help you accomplish. Some examples would be:
Capturing leads
Growing your contact list
Increasing sales
Building relationships
Expanding brand awareness
Your goal doesn’t have to stay the same forever. As your brand grows, most likely you will have new and different goals in mind but, it is important to always be thinking of what you want to accomplish. You will find that you are more motivated with a clear goal in mind, leading you to accomplish more!
“Build it, and they will come” only works in the movies. Social Media is a “build it, nurture it, engage them, and they may come and stay.”
- Seth Godin
Use emojis
As simple as it sounds, many brands don’t do this! The use of emojis is one of the easiest ways you will get people to view your profile. Studies have shown that people like looking at things more than they like to read. If your posts are all text, viewers won’t even read through all the way. Break up your text with some emojis, it will keep your clientele interested!
Emojis also help you express emotion. It is often very hard to convey specific emotions in your posts, and emojis can help you do just that. Though, be sure to use the correct emojis, otherwise the incorrect emotion can be displayed. For example:
I am so excited! 🤩 VS. I am so excited! 😟
The phrases above consist of the same words, but convey two very different emotions, be sure to avoid this!
Don’t go overboard with hashtags
Don’t get me wrong, hashtags are a very important part to your social media posts. They help you reach your target audience, make information easier to find, strengthen your brand image, attract followers, and even more! But, in order for hashtags to work properly, you cannot over use them. I think 10-15 hashtags tends to be the sweet spot, just try not to use more than 25!
Hashtags should be specific towards your brand and clientele, anything outside of that defeats the purpose. The more hashtags you use, the less engagement you get! People will get annoyed when half of your post consists of hashtags, and your engagement rate will continue to get smaller. If you don’t know which hashtags would be the best to use, try using a hashtag generator to help you!
The bottom line is that, when used correctly, social media is an essential part of elevating your brand. If you use any of these social media hacks, let me know what worked out the best for you. Stay tuned for more social media tips and tricks!
